If the FortiClient dialup clients are configured to obtain a VIP address using DHCP, configure the FortiGate dialup server to either:. relay DHCP requests to a DHCP server behind the FortiGate unit (see “To configure DHCP relay on a FortiGate interface” below). DHCP relay through Fortigate 60B firewall isn't working. Ask Question. I already have a DHCP server on the internal network and so I figured I'd configure the firewall to relay the DHCP to dial up VPN clients. We've had DHCP problems with 4.0 MR3 firmware and that was fixed with a firmware upgrade. Also, we have a DHCP server on the.
It's me with my strange questions, I have a problem with a DHCP server and relay, both on FortiGate.
My current configuration is:
- FortiOS 6.2
- 4 vdoms including root
- 802.3ad Aggregate with, among others, VLAN 182 (testing) and VLAN 999 (DHCP server with many scopes). The aggregate is at root, the VLANs at 'interno'.
- VLAN 182 (172.16.182.0/24) has a relay to VLAN 999's IP (172.31.0.9/30)
- I can ping DHCP server interface from the VLAN 182 range.
What happened? The DHCP relay refused to work with VLAN 999's IP with these errors on debug:
considering interface v182_usr2_forti: enabled
Relay client interface: v182_usr2_forti
get_server_intf( 172.31.0.9, 0x1a473a70)
found route to172.31.0.9via172.31.0.9if(62)/interno
unable to locate suitable server interface for relay server172.31.0.9
All relay servers are disabled, free relay
If I put8.8.8.8(sorry Google) as the DHCP server address in the relay configuration, it works.
Any thoughts? I haven't found any documented limitation yet.
Thanks,
